Music found me before I ever went looking for it.
I'm Kylexic, a music producer from Cape Town, South Africa, and for the past decade, electronic music has been the one constant in my life. I never took the traditional route. No conservatory, no formal training. Just a deep, almost obsessive love for sound that kept pulling me back to the screen night after night. Everything I know, I taught myself in Logic Pro: pulling tracks apart, chasing feelings, trusting my ear, and letting the passion guide me to where the textbooks never could.
My sound lives in the space where progressive house meets big room energy. The kind of music that builds slowly, locks you in, and then hits you with a drop that rewires your whole nervous system. I'm drawn to tracks that have an identity of their own, music that doesn't follow a formula just because it's trending. That's always been my compass: make something that sounds like nothing else.
I grew up on the sounds that defined an era of electronic music. ATB's euphoric melodies, Alice Deejay's infectious hooks, Southside Spinners' "Luvstruck" on repeat until the neighbours complained. Those tracks didn't just entertain me; they shaped the way I hear music. That sense of euphoria, that feeling of being completely transported... that's what I chase every time I open a session in Logic Pro.
Today, I look up to producers like KSHMR, deadmau5, and Skrillex, artists who carved out their own lane and refused to compromise. KSHMR's cinematic storytelling, deadmau5's relentless innovation, Skrillex's total disregard for boundaries. Those are the standards I hold myself to. Not because I want to sound like them, but because they proved that the most powerful music comes from doing things your own way.
For me, music isn't a hobby or a side project. It's my lifeline. It's the only place where my mind goes completely quiet. When the world gets heavy, when everything feels like too much, I put on my headphones and I'm home. That's not an exaggeration. Music is the one space where I feel genuinely at peace, and producing is how I pour that feeling back out into the world.
After more than ten years of producing behind closed doors, I'm finally stepping into the open. New music. New energy. No formal training, no industry connections, just raw passion, a decade of late nights in Logic Pro, and a sound that's entirely my own. If you're looking for cookie-cutter EDM, you're in the wrong place. But if you want something with soul, with grit, with that feeling that hits you right in the chest? Welcome. You found it.
This is Kylexic. Turn it up.
